John Eric Humphries

John Eric Humphries is a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow at the Department of Economics at the University of Chicago. His research interests include educational choice, the origins of inequality, and modeling the role of personality in social and economic outcomes. His research includes work on the General Educational Development (GED) test, educational choice, the role of cognitive and non-cognitive skills in later-life outcomes, and the combination of skills measured by grades and achievement tests.
Originally from Alaska, he graduated with honors from the University of Chicago in 2009 with a B.A. in Economics and earned an M.A. in economics from the University of Chicago in 2013.
