As the Librarian at the Center, Lauren Schiller is responsible for coordinating research requests and finding papers and citations. She also works for University of Chicago Student Disability Services where she coordinates document conversion to accessible formats. She holds a Masters in Library and Information Science from Simmons College and an undergraduate degree in physics from Bryn Mawr College. Lauren has worked in academic libraries since 2002 in a wide variety of library positions including cataloging, reference, user services, and special collections and archives. She is interested in removing barriers to accessing information through digital library projects and open access publication and library activism and how libraries can foster inclusivity.
Lauren enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy, anime and manga, singing polyphonic music, and going to the theater. She performs with the a-cappella group Sassafrass at science fiction conventions.
