Toni Shears is an independent marketing communications professional who helps showcase CEHD research and extend its impact. She supports the center’s social media presence and assists with other communications.

Toni has spent most of her career sharing the stories and raising the public profiles of premier graduate schools and institutes in medicine, law, business, economics, and child development. She previously managed print, digital, and marketing communications at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business for nine years. As managing director of the Becker Friedman Institute for Research in Economics, she worked to inject economic research into policy discussions.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Michigan.
