Ben Xu is a Master’s student in the Computational Social Science program (Economics track) at the University of Chicago. He earned his Bachelor’s degree with First Class Honors from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, where he majored in Finance and minored in Economics. His research interests include labor economics and development economics, with a particular interest in inequality. His current research examines how personality traits and cognitive skills shape economic preferences and human capital outcomes.

In his free time, Ben enjoys cooking and exploring Chicago’s dining scene.
