Utsah Kalra

Utsah Kalra graduated from Grinnell College in 2025 with a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics and a minor in Statistics. Her research experience includes work with Professor McGavock on survey methodologies and behavior change communication interventions, with a focus on gender norms and time use. In her undergraduate research courses, she explored the effects of educational and legal policies on women’s educational attainment and intra-household bargaining power in India. She is interested in understanding human development, the policies addressing underlying inequalities, and how to measure these concepts.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing tennis, and exploring new cafes and restaurants around the city.
