Aldrich spent his undergraduate years at the College of the University of Chicago, obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Economics and Sociology in 2024. His research interests include development economics, financial economics, and (a bit of) quantitative sociology. He is particularly interested in micro-level development problems and enjoys employing methods such as randomized control trials and difference-in-difference models.

He was the co-leader of the development economics cohort in the undergraduate economics society Oeconomica and worked on an independent project managing a portfolio with the integration of the Kelly Criterion and MATLAB tools in the field of financial economics. Aldrich also worked as a teaching assistant for the summer school program Pathways in Economics in 2023, affiliated with the Department of Economics.

During his spare time, Aldrich enjoys watching soccer and basketball, playing table tennis, listening to different music genres, and playing guitar. He has been a devoted fan of FC Barcelona for more than a decade and enjoys listening to British artists like Ed Sheeran and Oasis.
