Tomáš Jagelka

Tomáš Jagelka is a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Applied Microeconomics at the University of Bonn. He is visiting the CEHD to help set up a long-term experimental collaboration with the Laboratory Schools aimed studying preferences and skills.

Tomáš received his PhD from École Polytechnique – CREST in 2019 and his A.B. from Dartmouth College in 2011.

Tomáš is an applied microeconomist with interests in experimental economics, behavioral economics, and empirical industrial organization. His current research focuses on improving the measurement of preferences and skills using structural econometric methods. His objective is to identify the number and nature of skills required to adequately characterize human potential. In ongoing work, Tomáš uses a unique dataset covering smartphones sold on Amazon to determine the impact of consumer reviews.

In his free time, Tomáš enjoys skiing, ice hockey, and horseback riding.
