Aron is a junior at UChicago, double majoring in Economics and Computer Science. His research interests include macroeconomics and big data. He is particularly passionate about exploring the intersection of economics, finance, and data, aiming to leverage computational tools for better economic analysis and insights.
In the summer of 2024, Aron interned at Third Point, a prominent hedge fund in New York. During his time there, he focused on public equities, particularly within the semiconductor sector, building models and conducting in-depth research to support the firm’s investment strategies. This experience honed his ability to apply advanced data analysis to financial markets, a skill he now brings to his economics research at UChicago.
Aron also coded and published an open-source Python library, Chess-Analytica, which streamlines chess data scraping and analysis. The library leverages chess.com’s API to pull game histories, apply data filters, and analyze player performance. With over 20,000 installs, Chess-Analytica has become a widely-used tool among the chess community, automating data collection and offering detailed insights into game trends.
Outside of academics, Aron is an active member of several organizations on campus, including Chabad, Chess Club, and Phi Delta Theta. In his free time, he enjoys playing chess, attending events with friends, and working on interesting coding projects.
